Hours: Mon-Fri 09:30-13:30 (Part Time, Term time only).
Responsible to: Headteacher, School Administrator
Salary: Silver Linings Education pay scale. Dependent on experience
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The post holder will Under the direction of the Head of School, SLT team, and catering company deliver well-presented nutritious food for students, staff and visitors in a safe and controlled environment. The post holder will be responsible for stock maintaining in relation to food for lunch preparation. The post holder will be responsible for stock management of cleaning and hygiene products (COSHH).
Accountabilities
• To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
• To be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures, including those relating to child protection, safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
• Ensure compliance with school standards legislation and the school safety policy, health and safety policy, and allergens policy
• To work with due regard to confidentiality and the principles of Data Protection, encouraging others to do the same.
• Ensure that you and any others using catering area are adhering to proper hygiene procedures, including wearing the correct uniform
• To set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive, appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels
• Keep up to date with and observe relevant child protection procedures, in line with keeping Children Safe in Education and Guidance for Safer Working Practice for Adults who work with Children and Young People in Education settings.
• Observe relevant health and safety regulations as they relate to your working practices and responsibilities, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Silver Linings health & safety procedures.
Procedural
• To ensure that all designated catering areas (including fixtures, fittings) are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard.
• To undertake specialist deep cleaning tasks as required
• Oversee the provision of high-quality school meals in line with government guidelines and legislation on school nutrition standards following guidance where applicable
• Manage food and cleaning stocks to prevent shortages or excess supply and adhere to the catering budget
• To undertake first aid training as required.
• Cater to special dietary requirements and ensure that allergy information is effectively communicated and labelled using guidelines
• Liaise with the Site maintenance team to arrange for all necessary repairs to be carried out to
• ensure the safe running of kitchen equipment and remove any faulty equipment pending repairs
• Produce high quality, nutritious food, ensuring adherence to portion size guidelines and ensure food is ready at the times specified by the school.
• Plan and prepare morning snack and lunch daily
• Serve prepared foods in an appropriate manner and clear dining area following lunch time
• With notice, prepare food for school trips, visitors and events.
• Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the grade of the appointment.
