Summary
Travel to other Naval Establishments and Defence Sites will be required as part of this job role.
Infra Strat Risk Assure plays a critical role in ensuring the overall assurance, knowledge sharing, and coherence of infra risk activities across Naval Bases and the wider Navy Estate. The post is pivotal in maintaining a Safe and Legal posture by identifying, managing, and appropriately communicating risks and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Navy Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) focal point for the coordination and implementation of Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) Managed Safety Critical Policy and Programmes. This includes the development of the strategic infra and safety risk and assurance picture to Navy senior boards.
Working with Assistant Head (AH) Navy Estate, directly support IDAMs working within the Built Estate Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) contract on the interpretation and implementation of safety policy.
Represent Navy Infrastructure in all DIO Infrastructure Compliance Committee (ICC) and Navy Safety workstreams, contributing to initiatives aimed at improving safety, compliance, and assurance across the estate. This includes active participation in relevant Working Groups as required.
Facilitate Naval Base maritime safety and waterfront activities specific to Infrastructure safety policy requirements, offering support and expertise as needed to integrate Naval Base Safe & Legal programmes under the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) and successor contracts, with wider Navy and Defence infrastructure safety programmes.
Collaborate with the Navy Safety Directorate to identify and share cross-cutting safety-related issues across the naval estate, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.
Maintain a comprehensive overview of risks, issues, and non-compliances across the naval estate. Ensure timely communication of this information, and SME advice, to Infrastructure staff and other key stakeholders to support informed decision-making and effective risk management.
