About the RoleWe are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and resilient mentors to join our dedicated team in Walsall. You'll work within a special school, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs-both on a 1:1 basis and within whole class settings.
What You'll Do
- Build Positive Relationships: Become a trusted adult for students who need extra support.
- 1:1 Mentoring: Provide tailored guidance and encouragement to individual students.
- Classroom Support: Work alongside teachers to create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
- Champion Wellbeing: Help students develop confidence, resilience, and social skills.
- Celebrate Progress: Recognise and nurture every achievement, big or small.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with children or young people is a bonus, but not essential-your commitment and willingness to learn are what matter most.
- Availability for part-time hours (flexible scheduling available).
