Summary
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Back Shift
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients dedicated engineering team. This role offers long-term stability within a well-established and forward-looking business that is currently investing in significant machinery and systems upgrades.
Key Details:
- Salary: £47,400 per annum (inclusive of allowances)
- Hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts per week, Monday to Thursday, 11:20 - 21:50
- Christmas Shutdown: Every year, with annual leave days protected
The Role
- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Support production teams by addressing breakdowns quickly and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical engineering issues.
- Work safely, both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safety at all times.
What We're Looking For
- A time-served apprenticeship (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with heavy industrial machinery in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good physical fitness due to the manual aspects of the role.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
- Multiskilled capability across mechanical and electrical disciplines (highly desirable).
- Familiarity with PLCs, controls, and drives (advantageous).
- Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
- Previous sawmilling experience (very desirable).
