Key Purpose of the Role

In the role of Employee Relations Adviser, you will be working for a leading national charity, you will work in the People team and work closely with operations to ensure a cohesive approach to HR management.

As an Employee Relations Advisor you will advise and support operational managers on all employee relations cases including; probation, performance management, capability, conduct, conflict management, data subject access requests, investigations, disciplinary & grievance, whistleblowing and safeguarding matters.

You will work alongside the People business partner for the areas you cover to help and support them with proactive HR strategies, such as training needs analysis and to improve KPI’s (absence, turnover, case length).

Part of the Employee Relations Adviser role will include ensuring company policies are up-to-date and compliant with employment law.

Essential Criteria

Experience of case management including disciplinary and grievance investigations, performance management, long and short-term absence management, capability and compliance investigations.

Ability to be adaptable and pragmatic whilst having the confidence to put your case forward on the basis of law or principle when required

Proven ability to coach and encourage managers to make the right decisions first time

Good working knowledge of Employment law

Commercially and strategically aware with a strong customer focus

You will also be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal skills to help operational stakeholders understand all process, procedure and advice given.

Able to build strong relationships with stakeholders and can demonstrate proactive problem-solving abilities.

Desirable criteria:

Working towards CIPD or Cilex legal qualifications
