We are seeking to appoint an experienced, compassionate and motivated Pastoral Lead to join our dedicated team at Marling School. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development of our students.Start Date – ASAPActual Salary - £25,766 - £27,974Hours: 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 4.00pm Friday. Each day includes an unpaid half hour lunch break.As a key member of the Student Support Team, you will work closely with Heads of Year and Senior Leaders to support students across the school, coordinating interventions, mentoring individuals, and promoting a positive and inclusive school culture. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and passionate about helping young people thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities will include: • Providing strategic and day-to-day support to Heads of Year to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and attendance.
• Acting as a key liaison between students, staff, families, and external agencies.
• Coordinating and delivering targeted mentoring and intervention programmes.
• Monitoring pastoral and academic data to identify students needing additional support.
• Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
• Supporting key pastoral events such as year group assemblies, reward ceremonies, and wellbeing activities.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, professional relationships.
• Demonstrates sound judgement, emotional resilience, and a calm, authoritative presence.
• Is confident working with students who may present with challenging behaviour or require additional support.
• Has experience working in a pastoral, welfare, safeguarding or student support role, ideally in a school setting.
• Is committed to inclusion, equal opportunities and safeguarding all students.
