About Hawthorne Park SEN Academy - Graduate Learning Support Assistant

Hawthorne Park SEN Academy is a welcoming specialist school in Stevenage, supporting students aged 11–16 with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties. Rated “Good” in its most recent review, the school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral support.

The Role – Graduate Learning Support Assistant
As a Graduate LSA, you will:

• Provide academic and emotional support to pupils with additional needs.
• Work 1:1 and with small groups, helping students build confidence and independence.
• Adapt resources and strategies to make learning accessible.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists to create a nurturing environment.

• £520–£575 per week, paid weekly via PAYE (no umbrella deductions).
• Full-time, long-term role (Monday–Friday, term-time only).

About You - Graduate Learning Support Assistant

• Recent graduate (2:1 or above preferred) in Psychology, Education, English, or related fields.
• Previous experience with children/young people (e.g., tutoring, youth work, volunteering).
• Calm, adaptable, and resilient when faced with challenges.
• Genuine interest in SEN and inclusive education.
