Are you ready to take the next step in your logistics career? We're looking for an organised and proactive Assistant Distribution Manager to join a busy operations team in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong distribution centre experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and making a real impact on efficiency, cost, and customer satisfaction.
The Role:
As Assistant Distribution Manager, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Centre across the EMEA region. You'll play a key role in ensuring orders are processed and shipped accurately, cost-effectively, and on time. Working closely with internal teams and external logistics partners, you'll help drive smooth workflows, reduce distribution costs, and keep service levels consistently high.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate despatch using the best carriers.
* Monitor inventory accuracy and support smooth stock movement within the DC.
* Collaborate with warehouse teams and 3PL partners to resolve operational challenges quickly.
* Track KPIs, analyse performance, and provide reports to management.
* Assist with customs documentation, invoice reconciliation, and audits.
* Identify process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
* Support supervisors and act as a point of escalation when needed.
About You:
We're looking for someone who:
* Has strong knowledge of distribution centre operations, order fulfilment, and carrier management.
* Understands transportation logistics and cost/service optimisation.
* Is confident using MRP systems (SAP a plus) and Excel at an advanced level.
* Brings problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
* Has leadership potential with the ability to support and guide operational teams.
* Communicates effectively across all levels and builds strong working relationships.
