Summary

Principal Purpose of Job
Create a positive and welcoming environment for our customers.
Uphold a high level of customer service, ensuring customer feedback is reported to the Duty Manager.
Serve customers at bars, kiosks, and retail points quickly and efficiently.
Carry out Front Of House duties in a professional and friendly manner displaying high standards of customer care.
Assist in audience evacuations in line with procedures and training.
This varied role is part of the Customer Experience team who operate the Bars, kiosks and Front of House for all events

Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

Sales and Bars
Serve customers at bars, kiosks, and retail points quickly and efficiently.
Operate tills and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
Upsell pre orders and ancillary items such as programmes and ice creams, promoting offers to maximise income.
Restock products and maintain clean, attractive service areas.
Comply with licensing laws and alcohol service regulations (Challenge 25 etc).

Front of House
Support ticket scanning and ushering as required, providing a welcoming and friendly service.
Assist customers with seating, directions, and queries.
Monitor audience areas and report any issues to the Duty Manager.
Assist in evacuation of the audience as needed, attending regular training sessions and maintaining good knowledge of all emergency procedures.
Carry out cleaning duties to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.

General duties of all WTM staff
Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Follow health & safety, food hygiene, and fire evacuation procedures.
Undertake any reasonable duties requested by the Duty Manager.
Promote and represent WTM positively at all times.
Undertake all duties in accordance with WTM policies, in particular those relating to Customer Care and Equal Opportunities.
Expected to work at all WTM venues (Assembly Hall, Pavilion, Connaught Theatre and Connaught Studio, and on occasion the Museum) in Worthing Town centre.

Personal Criteria – What You Bring
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrable experience in delivering excellent customer service
Accuracy with cash handling and taking payments.
Willingness to focus on sales / bar duties as the main responsibility
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to remain positive and calm when working under pressure
Evening, weekend and bank holiday / seasonal availability
An understanding of equity and inclusion and how to apply this in the workplace thinking about both customers and colleagues.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Previous experience in bar, hospitality or retail
Front of House theatre, live venue or cinema experience
Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene, or first aid
An interest in the arts and culture.
