We are excited to invite you to join the dedicated Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU) nursing team at Wexham Park Hospital, part of the Medicine Directorate.
Our 16-bedded MADU provides high-quality care for acutely unwell patients, with facilities for full cardiac monitoring and non-invasive ventilation. We deliver level 1 and level 2 care for a wide range of conditions, including:
Gastrointestinal bleeds
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
Type 1 & Type 2 respiratory failure requiring non-invasive ventilation
Heart failure
Severe electrolyte imbalances
Central and arterial line monitoring

• Provision of nursing care for patients with a variety of acute conditions
• Co-ordinating the care of patients across the multi-disciplinary team
• Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient care with minimal supervision
• To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that treatments are correctly carried out in accordance with given policy
