Summary

With one of the most varied roles with the hospital, you be on hand to help support and fix mechanical issues across the site, making sure that visitors, workers, and patients all receive the same great experience.

The NMGH Estates Mechanical Officer has responsibility for Hard Facilities Management (FM) services and sub contracted services at North Manchester General Hospital and any other sites serviced by the NMGH Estates Team. They will be responsible for ensuring that all buildings, plant & infrastructure are maintained safely and cost effectively within agreed statutory requirements, in accordance with NHS and the Trust’s policies and procedures. They will manage and monitor programmes of work

You will use your knowledge and experience to prioritise your workload to affect change within the hospital to build a safe environment for clients, visitors, and staff.

As Authorised Person, ensure that the testing, validating, certification and registering of all the Trusts Estates Statutory Compliance requirements are undertaken by either the in-house team, PFI service providers or qualified sub-contractors to ensure the Trust complies with its responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• Water Quality (Water Safety Group, Written Scheme of Control, Site Plans, Decommissioning and Decanted Space, Training, Asset Management)
• Medical Gases
• Building Management System (BMS)
• Construction Design & Management (CDM)
• Permits to work
• Health & Safety
• Emergency planning
• Energy management through Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Decontamination Services Asbestos• Register
• Certificates & Samples of Management Control Plan

Support in maintaining registers of Compliance as required by the Trust Compliance Manager and support the Compliance Manager in periodic audits to assure performance with regards to Water Quality.
