Position available - Breakfast club, Afterschool club, & Holiday club
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children to play and learn. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children.
The position available is for breakfast club, afterschool club & holiday club
(Please see hours below)
Breakfast club - 7.20am to 9.05am
Afterschool club - 3.00pm to 5.45pm
Holiday club - 7.30am to 5.45pm - hours on a rota basis
A qualified and experienced candidate is essential (Level 2 or Level 3 in play work) but will consider all candidates with at least 2 years experience of working in a childcare setting with child care qualifications.
All candidates must be 18 years or over.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and interact with children during playtime activities
- Plan and organize age-appropriate games, crafts, and educational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
- Assist with mealtime routines, including serving snacks and cleaning up
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of play areas and equipment
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, such as in a nursery or childcare setting, is preferred
- Valid driver's license is desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is a plus
- Ability to effectively manage groups of children of various ages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work well within a team
Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Child Protection qualifications would be an advantage but training can be done whilst in employment.
