Summary

We are excited to offer a full time Clinical Trust Fellow at SHO level to join the busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Medway Maritime Hospital. The post is suitable for those wishing to enhance their experience of neonatal intensive care. The post is available for 1 year from December 2025 The successful applicant is required to deliver a high standard of clinical care within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, taking animportant role in the delivery of holistic, evidence-based care under the direction of the Lead Consultant Neonatologist. Working within agreed protocols and guidelines the post holder will exercise independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the clinical care and management of premature, sick babies and their families. This is a SHO CTFpostand thepost holder should have experience of working within a NICU previously.The post holder will contribute to the neonatalTier 1 (SHO/ST1-3) doctors and allied health care professional rota and will work alongside the wider MDT workforce. This post is suitable for an experienced paediatrician who should have had experience of neonatal level 3 care as a junior doctor for at least 12 months. The appointee will: Be accountable to the Speciality Lead in neonatology and the on-call consultant. Provide continuing patient care in partnership with senior and junior colleagues. Provide professional supervision, direction and training for junior medical staff. Be committed to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and Appraisal. Participate in quality improvement activities on the unit including clinical audit. Participate in research activities on the unit and recruiting patients to studies. Participate in clinical governance processes including mortality and morbidity reviews and guideline development.
