About the Role
The Haringey LD Psychiatry Team is seeking a proactive and organised Medical Administrator to provide essential support during a period of holiday cover. Based at the Winkfield Centre, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care and ensuring the smooth running of clinical and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities
Process 60+ GP review letters monthly

Coordinate 8+ clinics and 5+ home visits weekly, including room bookings and meeting arrangements

‍ Deliver trainee inductions (6+ annually) for rotating placements

Transcribe clinical dictations and manage urgent medication-related correspondence

️ Support reception duties including patient check-ins and urgent prescription handling

Maintain safe prescribing systems during clinics

Triage and escalate mental health emergencies appropriately

Manage consultant and trainee rotas to ensure service continuity

Oversee a caseload of ~200 patients, tracking referrals and follow-ups

Maintain accurate data using Excel for waiting lists and referrals

Upload and manage electronic case notes and correspondence

‍⚕️ Organise CPA meetings and allocate clinic slots

Schedule initial psychiatric assessments

Coordinate placements and schedules for medical students

Role Objectives
This role is critical to:

Supporting clinicians in their clinical and supervisory duties

Managing both urgent and routine administrative tasks

Ensuring continuity and safety in patient care

Aligning with best practices across the Trust and national guidance

Skills & Experience
Intermediate communication and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office

Previous experience in a similar role desirable

GCSE Grade A–C (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Relevant professional qualification preferred
