Summary


An excellent opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified, current band 5 or a returning to practice therapist to join a friendly, innovative and dynamic team of professionals.

Our team supports children and their families with their speech, language and communication needs in Havering , London’s eastern-most borough. The role involves close collaborative working with multi-disciplinary colleagues in Health and Education, alongside parents and carers, where your skills will be nurtured by supportive and experienced colleagues. While consolidating your training and gaining experience managing a general paediatric caseload, this post offers opportunities to develop your knowledge of a wide range of specialisms such as stammering, speech disorders, AAC, selective mutism, complex needs and autism.

The successful applicant will be responsible for a clinical caseload providingassessment of mainstream primary pupils in schools, planning interventions,group and individual therapy to pre-school children with in clinic, identifying and meeting training needs and providing specialist advice.

Based in Romford, Havering- a culturally diverse outer London Borough, we work alongside colleagues in Paediatrics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapies and CAMHS. Staff benefit from established transport links from London, Essex and Kent, including the Elizabeth Line.

You would be joining a creative and dynamic team which operates in an inclusive and supportive manner to passionately advocate for the needs of our clients. All our therapists benefit from a programme of regular clinical, safeguarding and peer supervision. In-house and external training is encouraged to maintain expertise and further develop skills, while ad hoc support and advice from experienced colleagues is accessible whenever required. There are also opportunities to support service-development alongside colleagues in the wider team. Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff)



Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will includemandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,914). Pro rata for Part-time staff.
