Summary

The learning development team at Lancaster University are seeking to appoint a 0.2FTE learning developer who will support students on the Frontline (postgraduate) programme for a six month maternity leave cover. You will join a team a team of ten Learning Developers, managed from the library, most of whom have faculty-specific roles.

You will be required to work both individually and as part of a team to help postgraduate students enrolled on the Frontline programme that is managed in Sociology department to develop as effective and independent learners. Flexibility is crucial as students studying on the Frontline programme also work alongside their studies.

You will have a master's degree in a relevant discipline and a teaching qualification is desirable as well as fellowship of Advance HE. You will have experience of supporting students with their academic development in particular with academic writing and assessment literacy.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work sensitively with students and colleagues from a range of cultural and academic backgrounds.
