Summary

Lead Support Worker - Haverhill

Full-time | Must hold a full UK manual or automatic driving licence.

We're looking for a confident, compassionate Lead Support Worker to join our team in Haverhill, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and physical mobility needs across eight individual flats. This is a full-time role for someone who leads by example, communicates with empathy and precision, and thrives in a setting where no two days are the same.

You'll be supporting a group of people aged between 30 and 80, each with their own interests, routines, and goals. From church visits and sensory room sessions to shopping trips, zoo outings and evening discos, the people we support enjoy a wide range of interests and you'll play a key role in helping them stay connected to family, friends, and their community. Support is typically 1:1, with occasional 2:1 in the community, and you'll need to be flexible to help people get to appointments and social events.

As Lead Support Worker, you'll take the lead on rota management, inputting rotas electronically and helping the team stay organised and responsive. You'll support with incident reporting, system updates and quality assurance, and attend health and safety or organisational meetings as needed. You'll also be a key point of support for your colleagues, offering guidance, helping with training, and modelling best practice in everything.

Strong writing and listening skills are essential, as is confidence using systems and recording information clearly. You'll need to feel comfortable supporting with personal care (from prompting to full support), hoist use, wheelchair support, medication administration and meal planning. Shift patterns vary, with a mix of early and late shifts, typically 7am-2pm or 2pm-9pm and occasional longer days. There are no sleep-ins or regular night shifts required.

We're looking for someone local who can work flexibly across all eight flats, and who shares our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect. In return, you'll be part of a values-led organisation that invests in your development, celebrates your contributions, and gives you the tools to make a real difference.

The rewards

As well as competitive pay and job satisfaction, you'll also benefit from:

- 30 days annual leave entitlement, pro-rata, (including bank holidays), rising to a maximum of 35 days.

- Pension scheme, including a money purchase scheme with employee and employer contribution.

- Discounts and cashback on the high street and online shopping through Rewarding Dimensions.
