Are you an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of English? If so, you will be interested in the opportunity thatwe currently have available at Ossett Academy & Accord Sixth Form from January 2026. You will havepassion and enthusiasm, alongside the skills and desire to develop pupils in your classes and help themachieve excellent academic results.

Ossett Academy is an Ofsted ‘good’ rated secondary academy with great facilities and a fantastic Englishdepartment. We also have a standalone Accord Sixth Form building on-site, meaning that colleagues alsohave the possibility of teaching at A-Level if this is an area of interest or development.

Your role will involve shaping the curriculum to meet the needs of our diverse pupil body and ensuringalignment with industry standards. You will have a deep interest in the attainment of pupils at every abilitylevel and show vigour and initiative. The English department at Ossett Academy are an outstanding team ofprofessionals who are vibrant and forward thinking. The role may be deployed at either secondary academywithin the Trust.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) will have an experienced subject mentor assigned from day one in post.Colleagues are supported through their early career years with regular check ins from line managers andopportunities to meet with other ECT’s across the Trust and colleagues from HR where any further supportand guidance may be required. We are an inclusive academy and Trust and embrace opportunities todevelop all colleagues on their journey to success. All newly appointed teaching colleagues receive abespoke onboarding induction including their first day off timetable to ensure sufficient time andpreparation can take place.
