What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a high-impact teacher, someone with an infectious passion for sport and healthy lifestyles, who can teach high quality lessons, deliver strong outcomes with their classes, and who will act as a positive role model and champion for women in sport. Due to the changing room facility requirements, we are only able to accept applications from female candidates.
The Sport & Performing Arts team are a well-respected team both within the school and the local authority. They have a strong track record of successful outcomes both in exams and in their performances at local, regional and national competitions. The successful applicant can expect the support of a highly-effective team who will ensure you are able to make excellent progress in your teaching career and help you to reach your full potential.
The successful applicant will teach PE at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to a wide range of ability levels, and we would also expect the successful applicant to make a significant contribution to our extra-curricular provision in PE. Experience of teaching Netball is desirable. The department also deliver Health and Social Care at Key Stage 4.
We are determined that the successful candidate will have:
• A passion for teaching in their specialist subject.
• Evidence of high impact teaching.
• Evidence of strong outcomes with groups at KS3 and KS4 and the ability to successfully teach across both key stages.
• Well-developed skills in marking and feedback to students, which leads to well-matched and challenging learning activities.
• Alignment with our trust and school values.
• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
All candidates must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
