You will operate primarily as a lone worker however you may be required to work as part of a team as the situation requires. You will perform Street Sweeping tasks throughout the area operating a pavement sweeper you may also be required to carry out additional tasks such as driving a van to empty litter bins, collect fly tipping and lift waste from domestic properties. You may also be required to carry out other duties such as assisting with refuse collection, winter maintenance and any other Environment Service's tasks as and when required.

You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post.

You must be able to complete paperwork associated with the post e.g. timesheets, work schedules, maintenance records etc. A working knowledge and experience of computers/ smart phones would also be beneficial.

The Environment Service has moved from the traditional Mon-Fri shift patterns, this post is Friday to Monday on a compressed 36 hour working pattern.

A Cat B driving licence is essential with Cat C1+E being desirable.

To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit and be prepared to walk carrying/ moving loads over rough ground in all weathers. You will have a strong constitution with regards to adverse odours and may be required to work overtime.
