Your new company
A Secondary School in North Birmingham is looking for a School Premises Assistant to join their dynamic academy. The role will be a full time, 8am - 4pm. The school has 3 sites based in Erdington, and travel between the sites will be required. This is a long term ongoing role.
Your new role
Duties will include:
- Work with the Estates Manager to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and guidance
- Work with the Estates Manager to ensure the general security of the buildings and grounds
- Assist with maintaining risk assessments and management plans ensuring that they are up to date and comply with any action plans to rectify any deficiencies identified
- Undertake site and maintenance work on the grounds, ensuring the work is carried out safely and to a high standard
- To undertake general maintenance and remedial works in-house, calling on contractors if required and Reporting any defects of buildings, furniture, fittings and equipment to the Estates Manager
- Deliver goods around the academy as required
- Open and lock up and secure the Academy's premises before and after lettings, following the opening and closing procedure
What you'll need to succeed
Experience ideally of working as a caretaker within a school or similar background. You also need to have a recent enhanced DBS check and experience that Hays can reference.
