Teaching Assistant (Level 2)School: Heolddu Comprehensive SchoolGrade: Grade 4Contract: Term Time Only, One year fixed term in the first instance Responsible to: ALNCoAbout the RoleHeolddu Comprehensive School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to pupils’ learning and development by providing high-quality classroom support and targeted intervention under the guidance of teaching staff.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils individually or in groups, including those with additional learning needs, to access the curriculum and reach their potential.Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities in line with agreed programmes.Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and behavior.Promote inclusion, positive attitudes, and high expectations.Provide feedback to pupils and contribute to reviews of learning plans (IEPs).Support with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and administrative tasks.Supervise pupils during short-term teacher absence, school activities, and trips.Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to support pupil achievement.Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection policies.What We’re Looking ForQualifications: NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) or relevant experience.Knowledge: Understanding of the national curriculum, child development, and effective learning strategies.Skills: Ability to use ICT to support learning, excellent communication skills, and a positive approach to problem-solving.Experience: Working with children or young people in an educational setting.Personal Qualities: Team player, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil progress and school improvement.
