As Mechanical Defect Technician, you will be responsible for managing and supervising maintenance activities to ensure work is executed successfully to achieve the objective of Lifecycle Delivery - Assets Remain Safe & Operational.

You will be accountable for the engineering and risk assessing packages of work to allow works to be performed safely and efficiently and directing site personnel including contractors when performing engineering works.

You will

- Investigate plant failures/defects and support implementing of remedial action to achieve effective resolution.

- Manage and supervise internal and external maintenance technicians to ensure all such work is executed successfully, delivered safely, on time and to budget.

- Ensure works are assigned to personnel with appropriate competencies and performed safely in line with Safe System of Work.

You have

- A HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

- Experience supervising both contract and in-house teams, particularly in power station operations and maintenance.

- Strong technical writing skills, including repair specifications, work instructions, parts lists, and risk assessments.

- Familiarity with CMMS tools, ideally Maximo, and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet operational demands.

- A collaborative, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a multidisciplinary team environment.
