Summary

The Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Service (PRS) is a growing service that is working alongside the Local Authority to continue to strive for excellence, in a provision that prioritises wellbeing. We are seeking to appoint outstanding practitioners who are ready to take lead roles in our service. Applications are sought from innovative, enthusiastic teachers who are committed to inclusion.

Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Service are committed to developing the potential of all staff and pupils. A full programme of training and support helps foster the trauma-informed and restorative practice we know underpins sound pedagogy. The successful candidates will contribute significantly to supporting our pupils in an experienced, open and collaborative team.

Monmouthshire PRS is a portfolio provision with bases in the north and south of the
county, providing education for children and young people experiencing emotional, social and/or behavioural difficulties, including those who, by reason of illness, exclusion or otherwise, may not receive such education in a mainstream school.

The Purpose of this Role:-
The Monmouthshire Pupil Referral Service is a growing service that is working alongside the Local Authority to continue to strive for excellence, in a provision that prioritises wellbeing. We are seeking to appoint two outstanding practitioners from within our Pupil Referral Service, to take lead roles. Applications are sought from innovative, enthusiastic teachers who are committed to inclusion.
The teaching learning responsibility (TLR) attached to each role will be to oversee severalareas of the service. The TLR holder will initially be responsible for the areas below, but this may change according to the needs of the service.
• Centre Lead (PRU South)
• Digital Competency across the PRS (including the Science and Technology AOLE)
The successful candidates will form part of the PRS senior leadership team (SLT),
alongside the Head and Deputy Head of the PRS. All successful candidates will contribute
significantly to curriculum planning, design and development and will take on the role of one of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads for the service. Successful candidates will oversee other areas of whole service leadership not listed above, as defined and designated by the Head of the PRS.

Full induction and continuous professional development will be provided by PRS.
NB: The ‘Head of the PRS’ refers to the role of ‘teacher-in-charge’ as reflected in the regulations
Where the ‘teacher in charge’ is responsible for the internal organisation, management and control ofthe PRU, and for advising on and implementing the strategic plan.
