I am looking for a kind and patient and experienced PA to support my son for 5 hours on either a Saturday or Sunday. He is nonverbal and is a sensitive little boy who likes routine. My happy and affectionate 8-year-old son is obsessed with animals and loves being outdoors and swimming.

He loves being outdoors and anything to do with animals so a trip to the park or a local petting zoo would be fantastic for him. He also loves to swim so a trip to the local pool would be just as much fun for him.

Anyone working with my son would need to get to know him and his ways of communicating. Any activities to be undertaken with him would need to be discussed and agreed with mum.

Mum would be always contactable while he is in the care of any workers. Mum will inform workers of any changes to the care he may need. He has no sense of danger and is unable to keep himself safe in all environments. He has difficulty processing and can become easily frustrated. This may result in him hitting, kicking, and trying to bite. Warning signs can include screaming or crying. Close 1:1 supervision always and you will need to be extra vigilant in area's surrounding roads. He is calm and settled in the car if the journey is short. Close 1:1 supervision when transitioning to and from vehicle as he has no sense of danger and will try to run. Reins to be worn.

Duties include:
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Other relevant duties as required
- Transportation
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
