About the Role
Long Term Futures are working with an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in the NG7 area of Nottingham to recruit a Cover Supervisor.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded school with excellent standards of behaviour, a strong sense of community and high academic expectations. The successful candidate will step into an active classroom role, supervising lessons in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay focused and engaged.
This role is well suited to candidates with classroom experience, or to graduates considering teacher training who want to build valuable experience in a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes and deliver pre-set work during staff absence
- Ensure pupils remain on task and learning objectives are achieved
- Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model for students
- Collect completed work and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Respond to immediate issues or emergencies calmly and appropriately
- Assist with wider school duties such as lunchtime supervision and school trips
What We're Looking For
- Degree-level education or relevant qualification (minimum GCSE English/Maths)
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting
- Strong classroom management and the ability to create a purposeful learning environment
- Clear communication skills and confidence in building positive relationships
- Calm, adaptable and resilient approach when handling challenging situations
