Job Details
  • Location: Cranleigh, Surrey

  • Department: Education

  • Reporting to: Class Teacher

Role and Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to the class teacher and students, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will vary based on the specific needs of the students and the classroom, but will include assisting with educational activities and providing one-on-one or small-group support. This role is a fantastic way to apply your non-school-based skills in a structured educational setting.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a compassionate individual with a genuine passion for working with young people.

  • Experience: While experience as a teaching assistant is a plus, we highly value experience gained from other roles supporting children or young adults with diverse needs. This could include experience in a care home, youth centre, therapy setting, or as a support worker.

  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable but not essential. The most important qualification is your experience and passion for working with young people.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and adaptable. Experience working with individuals with diverse learning needs or disabilities would be a significant advantage.
