Summary

UWE Bristol is an established provider in delivering Higher and Degree level apprenticeships. The University is a Grade 2 (Good) Ofsted provider of apprenticeships and was rated a Top 50 Training Provider in 2024/25. This is an exciting time to join UWE Bristol and support the ambitious growth of our apprenticeship provision as a leading provider regionally and nationally.

Sitting within the University’s Research and External Engagement department, the Centre for Apprenticeships supports the delivery and quality of apprenticeship programmes, ensuring compliance with external regulations, and providing employers, apprentices and stakeholders with excellent service.

Reporting to the Apprenticeships Compliance Manager, the Apprenticeships Compliance Officer will provide essential service, guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the University maintains excellent compliance with the Department for Education’s funding rules for apprenticeships. Your duties will include

• supporting the monitoring of ILR funding data and local records, taking remedial action where errors are detected
• ensuring employer invoices and other financial undertakings are processed according to DfE timescales
• contributing to the University’s administration and customer service improvement initiatives within the Centre for Apprenticeships
• liaising with external stakeholders to provide advice, guidance and monitoring information, where required
• providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory and process issues
• supporting the University to meet its apprenticeships aims and objectives

About you
You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of Apprenticeship provision, funding, and compliance, based on your professional experience. You will be confident in using Microsoft applications and other systems, and have solid experience of monitoring, processing, and manipulating data. You will also be enthusiastic to learn and develop as a key member of a specialist team, and to contribute to the learning and development of others.

The team works across a wide matrix of services and departments within the university as well as with external stakeholders, so effective communication and teamwork skills are vital for this role.

The university particularly welcomes applicants with up-to-date knowledge of learner management systems and/or apprenticeships financial processing.
