Summary
Valid and ongoing Medicolegal cover with a recognised MPO (MDU/MPS/MDDUS) Take accountability for the highest standards & professional decision making in relation to presenting problems. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate. Develop care & treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE. Ensure appropriate follow up of patients. Record clear and immediate consultation notes to agreed standards within clinical systems. Prescribe generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance). Manage long term conditions and patients with complex problems. Make autonomous clinical decisions regarding patient care. Cover a share of the administration work including lab results and Docman when colleagues on annual leave. Work to the highest standards and ensure that quality is through post graduate training, clinical governance, appraisal, Clinical Audit, benchmarking and peer review. Respond in a professional manner in all communications and deal with complaints in the same manner. Help develop Practice Plans, Policies, Procedures and Protocols.
