Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a specialist contractor delivering expertise in cladding, block restoration, and fire compartmentation works.
Due to an increase in projects across schools and developers — including building safety works and Gateway 2 & 3 schemes — we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (fire focus) to join their team.
(Gateway 2 and 3 are key approval stages under the Building Safety Act, covering pre-construction approval and final completion/occupation approval.)
Quantity Surveyor Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing fire-related projects, ensuring financial accuracy, cost control, and compliance. You will work closely with site teams and clients, providing commercial oversight across fire compartmentation and fire door projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead cost management on fire compartmentation and fire door projects.
• Prepare, manage, and agree valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Ensure project delivery is financially sound, commercially viable, and compliant with fire safety regulations.
• Liaise with site teams, contractors, and clients to ensure commercial alignment.
• Produce accurate reports, forecasts, and recommendations for senior management.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects under building safety regulations, including Gateway 2 & 3 processes.
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:
• Circa 10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong focus (minimum 5 years) on fire projects.
• Proven experience in fire compartmentation and fire doors.
• Strong commercial knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Demonstrated professionalism, accuracy, and commercial acumen.
Desirable:
• Experience with educational or developer-led projects.
• Previous exposure to building safety and Gateway 2 & 3 processes.
Key Attributes:
• Commercially capable and detail-driven.
• Professional, reliable, and pragmatic.
• Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
Package & Benefits:
• Salary: £75,000 – £95,000 (depending on level and experience).
• Laptop and equipment provided.
• Train fares covered for travel outside London.
If you’re an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong fire background and are seeking a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
