Role OverviewThe Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial delivery of projects, ensuring profitability is maximised and contractual risks are managed. Working closely with the site team and under the guidance of senior commercial staff, the QS will be responsible for a range of commercial and contractual duties.
- Submit Early Warning Notices (EWNs), Compensation Events (CEs), and other contract notifications in a timely manner.
- Maintain registers for all contractual notifications.
- Prepare quotations for agreed Compensation Events.
- Assist planners with contractual programme preparation.
- Support the preparation of Applications for Payment.
- Assist in drafting and negotiating subcontracts.
- Administer contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting timetables and client reporting requirements.
- Contribute to Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and other project reporting.
- Drive margin improvements and profitability across projects.
- Advise site teams on contractual obligations, notices, and risk mitigation.
- Support valuation, invoicing, and subcontractor account certification processes.
- Hybrid working option available, 2 days at home and 3 days on site
- 40 hours a week
Essential:
- Post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office applications.
Desirable:
- Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
- Background in main contracting or subcontracting.
- Exposure to industrial services or engineering sectors.
- Familiarity with risk and change management practices.
- Understanding of commercial best practices.
Essential:
- Minimum HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Full UK Working Rights
Desirable:
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS).
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport or CSCS (MAPS or Operatives).
