The Forensic Low Secure & Learning Disability Forensic Inpatient service has opportunities for a Band 6 Team Leader (RMN) at the Allington and Tarentfort Centres located in Dartford.

The Allington Centre is a 20 bed low secure inpatient service for forensic services. We specialise in the assessment and treatment of adults with complex mental health needs, who require care in a low secure setting, in response to offending, risky and/or challenging behaviours.

Tarentfort Centre is a 20 bedded specialist Low Secure Unit for the treatment and care of adult males/transgender females (whose risks to others cannot be managed in a female ward), who have confirmed or suspected identities as people with intellectual disability and/or autistic people and who may have additional mental health diagnoses. All people admitted to the Tarentfort Centre must also have been detained under MHA 1983/2007.



Support the Ward Managers and Matron in the delivery of clinical leadership, practice and achievement of quality priorities within inpatient learning disability and autism services.

Ensure that the well-being of patients, staff and visitors is paramount to the ward ethos.

Support the strategic objectives of the Trust through maintaining adherence of staff and of self to all Trust polices and procedures.

This is a clinically based role where daily visible leadership is expected.

What is High Cost Area Allowance?

The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting, is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.

As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.

5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,303 per year and a maximum payment of £2,198 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly) (2025 figures)
