Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Waste and Recycling Advisor to join our Housing Resident Services team. Supported by the Tenant Engagement Manager and team you will work together with the Waste and Recycling Team and our Council Housing Teams to help guide and support our tenants through the waste and recycling service changes for 2025 and 2026.
Are you good at working with and helping people?
You will be able to engage, and build excellent relationships with our tenants, Housing Residents Services Teams, and other key stakeholders, providing information that will help drive behaviour change and enable the successful transition to the new waste and recycling service in partnership with tenants. This will involve answering tenant enquiries, undertaking visits to communities and schemes, processing requests, and resolving issues. We must ensure our tenants are fully informed and able to participate in the new recycling initiatives and you will be pivotal to the success of the service changes and the anticipated increase in recycling across the district.
Are you passionate about recycling more and wasting less?
You do not need any formal training or experience in the waste and recycling industry as all training will be provided. However, you must share our passion for tackling climate change, by reducing our waste, reusing what we can and recycling more. You will act as the tenant facing representative for service change enquiries, supporting residents with face-to-face visits to properties and sharing best practice.
You’ll have:
A minimum of GCSE education including Maths and English to grade C or equivalent and will be a confident communicator, written, verbally and face to face.
You may have experience of working within the community and strong commitment to customer care.
It is essential for this role that you can drive and have access to your own vehicle.
What’s in it for you?
£26,011 - £27,380 per annum
23 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus an additional 5 days after 5 years continuous local government service
Local Government Pension Scheme and AVC provision
Hybrid working
