We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic lecturer to teach in our 16-18 EMSOL provision to students on a full-time study programme.
You will have a proven track record for outstanding delivery in teaching, learning and assessment within ESOL and be confident in delivering basic maths up to Functional Skills Maths Entry Level 2. Experience in working with young ESOL learners is essential with a good understanding of the challenges that they face both within their education and in the wider community.
You will also be delivering a small range of additional courses to ESOL learners (e.g. Employability Skills, Living & Working in the UK, Citizenship, Basic Digital Skills) to supplement their main ESOL course so a good base knowledge of these would be useful.
You will have demonstrable experience in high quality student support, curriculum development and quality assurance processes and must understand a good understanding of UASC learners and the motivations and barriers they face.
The successful candidate will be working with a strong, supportive team of experienced professionals and will be responsible for course leadership and internal quality assurance so familiarisation with the awarding body’s course outline and assessment guidelines (City & Guilds/Ascentis) is essential.
Working with our EMSOL learners is highly rewarding and there is a great sense of teamwork within the department, as well as the wider Area team.
