Mitie have a brand new opportunity for an established and organised Soft Services Manager to join their team in Bishop Auckland, Durham!
Job Overview
-Proactively demonstrate and work to the Company's vision of being 'The Exceptional, Every Day'
-Build a strong working relationship with both internal and external customers including sub-contractors to ensure that all services are delivered in a professional, timely and cost effective manner and seek ways to continuously improve and surpass expectations
-Lead by example with regards to health and safety, environmental and quality requirements ensuring compliance with statutory, legislative and contractual requirement s and ensuring that all work activities are conducted in a safe manner
-Manage and lead the Soft Services Campus teams (GxP cleaning, Non GxP cleaning, Moves, Logistics, Landscaping, FOH, Meeting room management, ASSC, visits & events) to ensure that an effective and efficient service is delivered and maintained at all times and service levels are in line with the contractual Cl's, KPl's and Pl's
-Manage and lead the sub contractors for Soft Services (G&G - Catering, Nuffield, Document Control- Swiss Post Solutions, Pest control - Rentokil, Laundry- Micron Clean and all other subcontractors for cleaning, Business services, Logistics and Moves) to ensure that an effective and efficient service is delivered and maintained at all times and service levels are in line with the contractual Cl's, KPl's and Pl's
-Drive the development of a professional and effective operational team, ensuring objectives are set, monitored and achieved and that all employees are appraised and have a personal development plan Implement a positive and proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture within the team
-Manage the delivery of Toolbox Talks, Safety briefings and corporate communications to all personnel
-Develop a succession plan for all key roles within the team
-Ensure the operational delivery team are trained and developed to meet the contractual obligations and conduct recruitment and selection and disciplinary and grievance activities as required
-Analyse operational performance and develop services to meet client's needs and the contract, controlling and minimising operational, financial and commercial risk
-Compile accurate management information/reporting as required and submit in a timely manner to appropriate stakeholders
-Monitor and control supplier, sub -contractor and labour costs to ensure the financial targets for the site are achieved
-Stay abreast of opportunities for developing energy saving initiatives to support the customers' carbon reduction initiatives
-Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to compile site specific processes and procedures which are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain current, including but not limited to, escalation procedures, Business Continuity Plans, Quality Management Systems
-Play a leading role to support any site audits, including but not limited to, quality, health and safety and environmental, ensuring that the site is appropriately prepared, and that any corrective actions are closed off in a timely manner
-Arrange, attend, chair and actively participate in internal and external meetings and/or training courses as required
-Perform ad hoc duties in line with capabilities to support corporate and client objectives
What we are looking for
-Must have the nature to represent Mitie with professionalism, integrity and honesty at all times
-Must hold a suitable Health and Safety certificate (IOSH Managing Safely or similar)
-Proven success in an operational manufacturing environment is essential
-The candidate must possess exceptional customer service and communication skills and highly literate .
-The candidate must be able to demonstrate the capability of people management, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, disciplinaries, grievances, appraisals and performance management
-While specific technical qualifications are not essential, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record managing multi-disciplined teams
-The candidate must be highly computer literate and experienced in using Microsoft applications
-The candidate must have a strong sense of achievement; able to drive initiatives and projects forward, expecting good standards of work and able to overcome barriers/ solve problems
-The candidate must be organised, good at time management and prioritisation of work and be reliable, punctual and responsible
-The candidate must complete both Mitie and GSI< online learning modules as and when required
