Summary
To support and enhance the professional occupation focused care of offenders within the service, across all sectors of care; providing occupational therapyscreeningsand occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional occupational therapist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the qualified occupational therapist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.You will work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to enable service users to reach their recovery potential and develop the skills necessary to manage their mental illness. You will motivate service users to engage it meaningful and purposeful activity within the prison community and encourage re-integration by liaising with prison staff and other stakeholders within the prison to promote social inclusion.
Post holder to be expected to work one day per week completing generic duties with the integrated mental health team as directed by the operational manager.

Key Task and Responsibilities
• To manage your ownworkload
• To work independently under the supervision of a registered OT as a member of the MDT
• Use technical, creative andpsychosocial skills to assist in providing therapeutic activities for individuals/groups of serviceusers
• To take responsibility for leading on the development of service userprojects
• Communicate with serviceusers/carers
• Provide feedback on therapeutic activities to supervisor, OT colleagues andMDT
• Have an awareness of social inclusion and skills development and ensure activitiesused focus on theseobjectives
• To undertake additional delegated responsibilities as directed by OTsupervisor

· Under supervisionofa registered OT, facilitate/co-facilitate planned groupworkand individualactivities
· Contribute to formal OT assessmentsofservice users under the guidanceofa registered OT and provide feedback on service users occupationalfunctioning
· Under supervisionassistand support service users to achieve theirgoals
· To engage in the ongoing assessment and treatmentofservice users and adjustownclinical interventionsbasedon the fluctuating needs of the serviceusers.
· Toassistin the implementation, evaluation, and modificationofOTinterventions
· Under the supervisionofa registered OT, develop and implement specific socially inclusive projects to meet the needs of serviceusers.
· To undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service
IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ:
All applicants must be willing to undertake National Security Vetting in order to work in a Prison Setting. This will be completed as part of the pre-employment checks through Oxleas and the prison vetting team.

Non-UK passport holders will need to have correct documentation (right to work in the UK) and a Home office Share code.
Address History:
5 years address history will be needed.
Applicants that are not UK Passport holders who provide less than 5 years UK address history will need to provide a Police Certificate which must be in English from where they resided previously.
Applicants who are UK Passport holders who have lived abroad for a period of more than six months during the last three years will need to provide a certificate of good conduct or an overseas police check in English from the countries resided in or visited.
