Bedwas Junior School wish to appoint a new caretaker who will maintain high standards and health & safety of the building and school environment.
We are looking for a proactive Caretaker who is able to work practically on a day-to-day basis, someone who can particularly turn their hand to all things practical - building, painting & decorating and supporting the overall DIY/ fixing aspects of running a school.
We are looking for a person who:
Has experience of building maintenance.
Understands fire safety and has a general knowledge of health and safety.
Has a committed, flexible and reliable attitude.
Has an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Has high expectations of personal and others’ safety, especially of pupils.
Has excellent DIY skills, ready to undertake general repairs and maintenance with confidence.
Is willing to go ‘the extra mile’ for staff and pupils.
Is a committed and efficient worker who will be able to be flexible, use their own initiative and be proactive in solving problems.
Has the ability to contribute to the security, safety and day-to-day running of the school premises and site.
Is prepared to undertake any relevant training.
