Summary


We are looking for a Administrator to join our friendly team of Colorectal Cancer Specialist Nurses and Cancer Navigator, to provide admin support to the Lower GI Nursing service at The Royal Wolverhampton Trust. There will be a range of administrative duties including, ordering supplies, scanning, answering telephone calls, and queries.

Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience of providing administrative services within the NHS.

To respond in an efficient, polite, and timely manner to all telephone calls received via the CNS team office. To escalate calls of complex patients to CNS.

To be responsible for the accurate in-put, up-date, and amendment of patient related information onto the computerised Patient Administration System (PAS), and any other computerised system used by the service.

To accurately scan paper referral letters and assessment documents onto CWP (Clinical Web Portal)

To action all instructions initiated by CNS’s about the appropriate booking for outpatient appointments in CNS clinics

In line with agreed Trust targets, to book, cancel or change patient CNS appointments on PAS. To accurately record reasons for patient cancellations/change of appointments, including appropriate action for urgent referrals.

To be responsible for booking, changing, or cancelling interpreters for patient clinic appointments as required and to prioritise any urgent requests

Plan and organise their own work without direct supervision. Cover for colleagues during absences.

To provide full administrative support to the Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team within the Directorate of General Surgery to include all administrative procedures and documentation associated with a patient’s attendance / admission to the hospital and supporting calls.

It is expected that staff will be able to demonstrate a significant level of initiative, particularly when dealing directly with patients, make decisions and take appropriate action in accordance with Trust and Departmental Guidelines.

Plan and organise their own work without direct supervision. Cover for colleagues during absences.
