Summary
The post aims to provide dedicated training time in anaesthesia across a variety of Anaesthetic sub-specialities. The post is a 1:8 full shift rota and the successful candidate(s) will be allocated to the appropriate on call rota based on skills and experience. Depending on the fellowship applied for, the successful candidate(s) could be expected to provide anaesthetic cover in locations such as general, trauma, paediatric, neuro and cardiac theatres. As well as trauma and cardiac arrest calls, cath lab, neuro radiology and obstetrics. Please note that due to service provision and gaps we often required our Fellows to cover the Obstetrics on call bleep. There are opportunities to complete fellowships in a variety of Anaesthetic sub-specialities at St Georges. We invite candidates to apply for fellowships focussing on Airway, Regional, Neurosurgery, Cardiac, Paediatrics, Trauma, Obstetrics, Vascular, Peri-op The fellow will also carry out anaesthetic duties at a level appropriate to clinical experience and competence which will also determine the degree of supervision. It is the aim of the department for this post to help prepare the anaesthetist for taking on the responsibility of becoming a consultant within a safe environment in which advice and support are readily available. The successful applicant will require commitment and enthusiasm, leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holders will be expected to observe the trusts agreed policies and procedures drawn up with the profession on clinical matters, and to follow the standing orders and financial instructions of St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust.
