We have a vacancy for an energetic, resilient and solution focused person, who wants to make a difference in our pupils' lives.
This is a great opportunity to join our excellent pastoral team as a Behaviour Lead and to be the first point of contact for our families, working with parents, carers, staff and pupils to ensure the highest levels of pastoral support.
The role involves being an Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead and you may be required to attend multi-agency meetings in line with this.
You will have experience of working with vulnerable pupils to promote positive behaviour strategies and to help pupils access all aspects of school life.
In this role you will:
- Support Inclusion Assistants, staff and parents to model and support the behaviours for learning that will help pupils to succeed.
- Line manage Inclusion Assistants to be the best they can be.
- Work every day in a child-focused way to find solutions for our most vulnerable pupils to succeed.
- Plan and timetable appropriate nurturing and supportive interventions.
- Write behaviour risk assessments and positive behaviour plans.
- Work with the SENDCO to drive the culture for brilliant behaviours and attitudes across the academy.
- Work with SLT to drive the culture for brilliant behaviours and attitudes across the academy.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have good numeracy/literacy skills and minimum GCSE English (grade C or above) or equivalent
- Be experienced in working with primary students who require a level of nurture support and behaviour management, although training will be provided as necessary
- Be able to evaluate student’s behaviour and understand a variety of techniques to de-escalate situations where students behave in challenging ways
- Have the experience and confidence to work with families and the ability to interact well with all stakeholders
- Have experience of safeguarding or be willing to train and learn.
- Be Norfolk Steps / DSL trained or willing to undertake training.
- Lead by example and be solution focused
