Summary
Our client, a well-established nursery in Reading, Berkshire, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full time Nursery Assistant to join their vibrant team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged between 3 months and 5 years. As a Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with the nursery team to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
- Observing and assessing children's progress, maintaining accurate records, and sharing information with parents and colleagues
- Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the children by maintaining a clean and safe environment and adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures
- Supporting children's personal care needs, including nappy changing, toileting, and mealtimes
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering open communication and a welcoming atmosphere
- Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Early Years and Childcare or an equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is desirable
- A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and its implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
- A warm, caring, and patient personality with a genuine passion for working with children
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Flexibility to work on a part-time basis, with the potential for additional hours as needed
