Summary
We are seeking a patient and committed Teaching Assistant to join a school in the Chelmsford area. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who may face barriers to learning, by providing personalised support and encouragement.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions that help pupils access learning and develop positive relationships. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist in managing behaviour, and help create a safe, calm, and engaging environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
•
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students in lessons
•
Support students in developing positive learning habits and behaviours
•
Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, accessible activities
•
Promote inclusion and ensure all learners can access the curriculum
•
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
•
Help create a safe and supportive learning environment
•
Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to staff regularly
Qualifications and Experience
•
Previous experience supporting young people, ideally in alternative provision or SEND settings
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
•
A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting students
•
Understanding of behaviour management strategies (desirable)
•
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
