What You'll Be Doing:
As a Yard Operative, you'll be at the heart of our operations, responsible for:
* Efficiently loading and unloading delivery vehicles using a forklift.
* Organising and maintaining the yard, ensuring it's tidy, safe, and easily accessible.
* Accurately picking and preparing customer orders.
* Assisting customers with their material collections and queries.
* Working closely with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Adhering to all health and safety regulations at all times.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Yard Operative, ideally within a builders merchant or similar environment.
* Valid forklift licence
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a yard setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you'll be interacting with colleagues and customers daily.
* A proactive and organised approach to your work.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* A good level of physical fitness as the role involves manual handling.
