Summary

CPI has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Lab Technician to join our Formulation facility in Sedgefield. As the Apprentice Lab Technician, you will be involved in all thing’s lab based such as conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments, through to collecting and testing samples.

Whilst getting the hands-on experience of working in a state-of-the-art lab, you will also complete a Level 3 Laboratory Technician qualification.

Some exciting projects the team have recently worked on are:

Edible ink formulation to enable personalised confectionary

Accelerating the development of nanomedicines

• To help streamline laboratory operations to enable fellow scientists to focus on the design and technical delivery of projects.

• To assist with the maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure it operates in a safe and efficient manner and is available to meet customer needs.

• To prepare for and perform laboratory tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures, and methods of relevance to the activities of the laboratory.

The Person

You must be qualified to at least GCSE level with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade 9 - 4 or equivalent including English, Mathematics and Science.

We are looking for someone who has an ability to communicate effectively to both colleagues and customers. You must have a strong attention to detail and have the desire to complete work to a high standard. You should also be proactive in your approach to work and have the initiative to consider all options before arriving to a conclusion. In addition, you must always show a professional attitude, maintaining a high standard of time keeping and reliability.
