Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and assistance to our young client. This role involves supporting our client with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring his physical, emotional, and social well-being.
The role will generally require work in the home environment with our client and his mother; it is therefore important that you are sensitive to the needs and boundaries of the family and can support the child’s parent when it comes to maintaining families' cultural standards and values.
Our client’s needs include Severe Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy, complex dystonia. Our client has severe development delay and NG feeds which you will be required to manage with training provided. He also has hearing and visual impairment. Our client is wheelchair dependent.
Our client has a very experienced multidisciplinary Therapeutic team supporting his complex needs. You will work with the team to help follow and deliver management plans within daily routines in line with therapeutic advice and training to enable you to do this safely and appropriately.
Our client is non-verbal and communicates with smiles, vocalisations and facial gestures. He likes sensory play and interactions and loves Cocomelon ! He enjoys being out for walks and also enjoys trips in the car.
We are currently looking for care support for 20 hours per week for the following times:
• Wednesday 12:00-1830 (6.5)
• Thursday 11:00- 17:30 (6.5 hours)
• Sunday 10:00- 17:00 (7 hours)
Shifts / hours may be subject to review/ change in line with client needs with notice.
We will continue to review and increase care support as this embeds, and relationships are established so there may also be scope for increasing hours in the future if successful applicant is interested.

Responsibilities
• Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, hygiene management, oral care and continence needs
• Support with household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping relevant to client needs
• Assist with medication administration and attend health/ appointments as required
• Managing Moving and Handling in line with relevant plans and training
• Encourage and support client to engage in community, social, and recreational activities
• Promote independence and support client in developing life skills
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided
• Follow individual care plans and report any changes or concerns to supervisors
• Uphold dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times

Essential
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic IT skills for recording and reporting
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices
• Right to work in the UK (unfortunately we do not offer sponsorship)
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check
• Full driving licence – you will be required within the role to drive the clients car and future Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle when required during care
• Willingness to support client within a Hydrotherapy pool if required (training provided)
• Previous experience working with / care of children
Desirable
• Previous experience in a care or support role
• Level 2 or above qualification in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)
• First Aid and Manual Handling training
• Knowledge of person-centred care approaches
• Understanding, knowledge or experience client needs as highlighted in job summary
• Our client may at times seek care support to travel with them during holidays in the UK and abroad- flexibility to accommodate support (expenses paid) willingness to consider such requests would be advantageous
