The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school located in Bradford. This is a full-time, long-term position with an immediate start, offering a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of the school community. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of students, both individually and in small groups. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can provide tailored support to meet the diverse needs of the students.

Key Requirements

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3).
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patience and a compassionate approach to supporting children.
  • The ability to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and educational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of lessons.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Supervising students during break times and lunch.
  • Assisting with classroom displays and maintaining a tidy learning space.
  • Working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher on student progress.
  • Supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Adhering to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding.
