We have a Clinical Director responsible for the Theatres, Anaesthetics and Critical Care directorate (TACC) across the Trust supported by Lead Clinicians for Pain, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics and Theatres.

Surgical services are located principally at two acute hospitals, York and Scarborough

It is envisaged that the post holder will carry out their duties as a consultant in anaesthesia based at either York or Scarborough Hospital. There is a requirement to provide cross site -working in line with current patterns within the department to support robust and sustainable provision of workforce in anaesthesia. Currently, all of the Consultants provide cross-site work including some on-call work.

The posts are initially contracted for 10 programmed activities per week.

The demands of the Anaesthetic department mean that close and ongoing collaboration with consultant colleagues is required. A degree of mutual two-way flexibility in sessional provision is anticipated.

Individual job plans will be discussed and finalised with the clinical director on appointment and will become operational on commencement. All jobs plans are agreed in line with the Trusts Job Planning Principles.
