Teaching Assistant

Contract: Temporary (maternity cover until 30th June 2026)
Salary: Grade 4 (SCP 3-6) £25,989- £28,142 Pro Rata
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 Weeks, Term Time Only
To start: 6th October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter
To support learning and teaching in either the Foundation Phase or KS2.
Duties will include:
working with small groups of children, both indoors and outdoors, to support their learning
establishing good relationships with pupils
acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
attending to pupils’ personal needs
supervising and supporting pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning
assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources
assisting with the display of children’s work.
supporting teachers by undertaking a range of tasks including photocopying, laminating, filing.

The successful candidate should have a good standard of literacy and numeracy and good communication skills. Previous experience of working within a school is essential.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
