Beginning – November or as soon as possible.
Cathays High School is looking for 1 Cover Supervisor to work under the direct instruction of Cover Manager. We are looking for positive, conscientious and collaborative staff to help support pupils. This will be a temporary role in the first instance.
As Cover Supervisor, you will be required to cover the lessons of teaching staff. Resources will be provided and you will need to work collaboratively with the Cover Manager as well as teaching staff to ensure that lessons are delivered in a positive and engaging manner. A positive and solutions-focussed attitude is essential for this post.
Under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher, the role may require you to carry out duties such as taking a lead role in exam invigilation, as well as administrative and clerical duties as appropriate to the post responsibility weighting. These include all duties that teachers cannot routinely be required to undertake as set out in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD) You will be committed to working in a collegial, or team manner and specific responsibilities are expected to rotate over time or change as appropriate after taking into account the level of post responsibility weighting. This is seen as contributing towards the continuing professional development of the support staff team.
