Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for Heavy Mobile / Construction Plant Fitters (apprenticeship served) to join their client in Port Talbot. You will be working on repairs and maintenance of the mechanical and pneumatic aspects of plant equipment in a busy workshop environment.

Key Duties:
  • Routine maintenance on all plant from forward tipping dumpers up to dump trucks, excavators, shovels, and dozers on site and in a workshop.
  • Breakdowns.
  • Carry out servicing.
  • Inspections for insurance purposes.
  • Undertaking risk assessment and associated paperwork, where required, of the relevant activities to ensure a suitable and effective safe system of work.
  • Preventative maintenance and fault finding.
  • Following safety measures.
  • Maintain your company vehicle to a high standard.
Requirements:
  • A background in working with construction plant (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Terex etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of welding.
  • Current valid driver's licence.
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
